INFO
Ivan Danko is one of the most distinguished oboists of his generation. Since 2001, he has been principal oboist at the Stuttgart State Opera —a position he accepted while studying with Prof. Günther Passin at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts.
As a soloist, chamber musician and, since 2024, also as a university professor for French oboe at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz, he shapes musical life far beyond Stuttgart.
In recent years, Ivan Danko has also distinguished himself as a composer with a distinctive style. His appointment as Composer in Focus of the Stuttgart State Opera for the 2025/26 season underscores his growing importance as a creative artist.
He plays an exclusive master instrument from the workshop of Jörg Huttenlocher in Tübingen.
